Digital EP released on Dream Disk Lab
As a recollection of sonic memories, Khaneh unveils its meaning through circular narratives which engage, intertwine, and dissolve in and out of each other. Musical form mimics here the fleeting process of cognition, where there is no beginning nor end, just gaps in between. Introverted and resolved, the exploration of identity at the heart of the work is tinged with nostalgia, as seemingly disparate sonic worlds are joined in a queer act of becoming. Undoubtedly, Khaneh’s greatest debt is owed to Forough, Marzieh, Googoosh, and all of the other powerful Iranian women of the past and the present whose voices resonate throughout its sonic landscapes : a firm reminder of where our hope must lie. Khaneh, in Farsi, means home. Khosh Aamadin.
